About the song

In 2019 Italian singer Mahmood wowed the Eurovision audience with his autobiographical song Soldi, which finished in second place. Soldi means money in Italian, and this song is all about how money can break a father-son relationship. With a chorus that includes the lines "It hurts to be alive when you lose your pride", it gives us raw emotions from a young man whose father left him to pursue riches. This was Italy's best placement since their return to Eurovision in 2011...until  the 2021 contest, that is. But Mahmood gave a fantastic performance, and you should really check it out!
